But like any valuable work, it requires specific care to preserve its beauty, texture and meaning over time. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article we share simple but effective tips to preserve your clay pieces, textiles and alebrijes as the first day.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-rank-math-toc-block\" id=\"rank-math-toc\"><h2>Table of Contents<\/h2><nav><ul><li class=\"\"><a href=\"#1-barro-negro-evita-humedad-y-friccion-innecesaria\">1. Wooden Alebrijes: protect them from direct sun and dust.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/decorazonmexico.com\/en\/categoria-producto\/alebrijes-from-oaxaca\/\">alebrijes<\/a>, especially those of San Martin Tilcajete, are carved and hand painted with very delicate layers.<br\/><strong>Recommendations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not expose them to direct sunlight for long periods: the colors may fade.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean them with a clean makeup brush or compressed air to remove dust without damaging the paint.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you notice extreme dryness, you can wipe with a cloth with a little unscented mineral oil (very gently, and only if the craftsman recommends it).<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4-textiles-y-tapetes-doblar-con-cuidado-evitar-sol-y-plasticos\"><strong>4. Textiles and rugs: fold with care, avoid sun and plastics.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/decorazonmexico.com\/en\/categoria-producto\/textiles-en\/\">Textiles<\/a> from Teotitl\u00e1n del Valle or central Mexico are made with wool, cotton and natural dyes.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-554fb53516c9efaf5ec05b4b1191159c wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#ffffff00\">How to care for Mexican handcrafted pieces, they last a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recommendations:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are not going to use them, store them in cotton cloth, never in plastic (to avoid humidity).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid hanging them near windows without UV protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If stained, consult with experts in cleaning delicate textiles.
