Each piece is carefully modeled with cream-colored engobe and decorated freehand in reddish or brownish tones. The most special thing is that their designs tell stories, on the figures are represented scenes of agricultural and rural life of the people, making each object a living testimony of tradition and identity.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The female figures known as &#8220;queens&#8221; are perhaps the most famous, for their height and exquisite decoration (Casa de M\u00e9xico, 2025). Once cured, the wood undergoes the delicate process of lacquering, which consists of applying several thin layers of lacquer on the surface to create a shiny and durable finish. The designs usually include fretwork, flowers or animals, and although they may seem simple at first glance, their elaboration is a meticulous process that requires great skill and a high aesthetic sense (Secretar\u00eda de Turismo, 2025).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To create each piece, the artisans use various natural elements, such as limestone, earth, vegetable dyes and oils such as chia oil. They were originally used to store seeds, water and other liquids, and even formed part of rituals and ceremonies. Over time, bules gained artistic value: their designs and decoration techniques reflect the worldview and traditions of each region. Today, they are appreciated both for their cultural and aesthetic value, becoming collector&#8217;s items and unique decorative elements.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like jewelry boxes, bules require a careful curing process to remove the seeds and achieve a uniform surface, ready for lacquering.
