Natural Smoked Clay
Claymaking is an ancient practice that Mixtecs started using during the early Postclassic period (900 – 1200 BC), to replace volcanic stone. Their designs often represented idols, animals, gods, stepped fretwork, and other images that linked them to their surroundings.
